  Friends are studying with the JW's

  i was studying spanish a little while ago - had to stop because of finances but became friends with the spanish teacher and we keep in touch, see each other now and again.

  i just got a message from him:.

  "hola louise, i would like to talk to you about 2 things, about the jws, as we are following this fatih, we find it interesting, we haven't been baptised yet, i want to make sure before making a mistake and the other thing that allan and i wold like to talk about is starting your own business.....".

  I need some advice please!!! I'm torn on what to do.

  this morning i woke up thinking about a friend of mine, i will call her sara...here's some of the back story.. we grew up together and have always been good friends, even though we wouldn't stay in touch, we would just pick up where we left off.

  sara has always been different, and i never really knew what it was growing up, but i didn't care, she was my friend.

  so we lost touch for many years and then about 4 yrs ago when i went back to my home town, we reconnected.

  You never explain why you're torn?

  I don't understand if you're no longer under the grips of the WTS, why even ask (WTS does that to people).

  What would a loving person do, no matter what the outcome? Apologizing also goes a long way.........

  i was a born-in, baptized as a teen, pioneered out of high school for a couple years (turning down a 4 year scholarship).

  Could the JWs sway you back...?

  op based on mr. freeze's topic - could attending the meetings/studying again sway any of you back to the org.

  hearing the propaganda over and over again is pretty powerful i'm sure.

  (i'm a non-jw, non-christian (no offense), stubborn as a bull and even i had moments of pause based on some of the doctrine (lasted 30 seconds) but i never had family/friends at stake or a background in this.

  stomach issues getting worse

  i have not been able to post for a while due to my health issues.

  i am in need of prayers because i am still having problems with diarrhea and very bad stomach cramps every single day that will not go away and my gastro doctor has taken me through stool tests and x-ray tests and cannot find out what is causing the diarrhea at all and i have been crying because the diarrhea is very bothersome.

  i also need some prayers because i really need to know someone that has gone through the rny gastric bypass surgery and has had their gall bladder removed because i have a lot of questions.

  is this a sudden thing?

  If you are using any type of water filtration, your water could be contaminated.....

  A while ago instead of keeping my Britta water container in the refregerator (like I do now), the water sat out longer then it should and started growing bacteria which I barly see in the container. Like a dummy I cleaned out the water, but re used the same filter (big mistake) and in turn got a nasty case of montezuma's revenge!!

  If it's not your water or filtration, you can search Web. Google is an amazing resource with lots of information.

  Does the WT have any legal grounds to go after "apostates" for defamation, slander, libel?

  question to all those well versed in legal issues.

  all jw's, when confronted with criticism, claim that apostates lie about the wt.

  i always have wondered, given the litigious environment in which we live in western democracies, why the wts doesn't go after all those websites that publish so many "lies" about "the truth".. can this lack of action on the part of the wts be used as evidence of the truthfulness of the message in "apostate" sites such as jwfacts,.

  And that's exactly one of the many points I make when talking with JW family. WTS can't sue when someone is telling TTATT, and can prove it.

  I know that's your intention NOW, but when passions ignite you can lose it to a kiss.

  Plus, he's a guy. Guys have a constant (outward) reminder of SEX....don't fool yourself......get educated on UBER SAFE SEX......... AND DON'T GIVE IT UP EASY......If a guy REALLY likes you, he'll wait til you're ready. If he skips....then his intentions are questionable........

  You also MUST learn to be open and communicate your feelings, desires, etc....don't leave him guessing, don't be shy or embarassed.....that will leave you open to many mixed signals and confusion.......

  Crushes/Love/Like....that's a tuff one when hearts are involved.

  Since you just escaped the JW's and exploring your new found freedom, take it slow and DON'T GET PREGGERS! You'll be tied down in a whole other way!

  So much can change in relationships. You or he can change. Life paths can change, money, family, work, school, etc. I'm sure since he's still young as well, he has evolving to do........AGAIN, take it slow and DON'T GET PREGGERS!!!

  Though Wikipedia is not a source considered for serious research, the majority of JWs do not research info the WTS sweeps under the carpet. And since Wiki is rather legit in it's own right, JW's cannot deny what's staring them in the face. Also JW's feel if it's in print as Wiki (for all to see) and the WTS hasn't sued, there must be some truth as to what they're reading........

  I've used Wiki many times to point things out to my family, as they will not look at any apostate info........
